As a winner of 11 Grammys and a member of the Billboard Hall of Fame, Joan Sebastian is perhaps Mexicos most famous and celebrated singer/songwriter with a career spanning 35 years and hundreds of songs. From a philosophy driven by three simple beliefs—Faith, Love and Luck—Joan draws strength and inspiration. Epiphone and Joan Sebastian unite to create a unique guitar that incorporates those three beliefs.
Presenting the Epiphone Joan Sebastian signature Sonador (the Dreamer) acoustic/electric guitar. A Guitar for the Dreamer in All of Us: From the moment you first see the distinctive mother-of-pearl inlays featuring the Cross (Faith), the Heart (Love) and the Horseshoe (Luck), the new Joan Sebastian Sonador is an inspiration. But once you pick up the guitar and you play it, you know that this is something special.
The Perfect Combination of Size and Power
With a body shape inspired by Gibsons famous J-185, the new Sonador is slightly smaller than a Super Jumbo guitar making it a much more comfortable instrument to play while still maintaining great acoustic power and projection. Producing a big sound with clear acoustics, it is equally impressive for powerful strumming or delicate fingerpicking, and everything in between. And, its beautiful rounded cut-away not only gives it a distinctive look, but also allows for easy fret access up to its 20th fret.
Quality Tone Woods
At the heart of every guitar is the wood and with an acoustic guitar, nothing contributes more to its tone than the top. Thats why the new Sonador features a Solid Sitka Spruce top with hand-scalloped, lightweight bracing that only improves with age. A solid Mahogany neck is hand-fitted to its Mahogany body using a traditional dovetail neck joint and Titebond glue providing maximum surface contact and strength. Combined, the result is a guitar with deep rich lows and shimmering highs with just the right amount of mid-range. Top it all off with an elegant solid Rosewood bridge with mother-of-pearl horseshoe inlays and youve got a one-of-a-kind instrument.
Built-In Electronics
When youre ready to perform live, so is the Sonador. Powered by an AT-3000 preamp, you have a Master Volume control as well as both High and Low EQ controls with +/-12dB of range right at your fingertips. Capturing both body and string sound, the preamp is connected to a piezo element pickup mounted under its compensated saddle. Plug in using the combination ¼ output/endpin jack and you're ready to go live anytime, anywhere.
A Dream to Play
The new Sonador is not only easy on the eyes and ears, it's easy to play as well. The neck features Epiphones famous SlimTaper profile. This D-shaped neck is slim enough to give you the speed you want but thick enough provide the stability and playing comfort you need performance after performance. At 1.725, the nut width and therefore the string spacing is just slightly wider than your typical acoustic guitar. This not only makes it easy to finger notes more cleanly, it also makes it perfect for finger-style picking.
Other Premium Features
The Sonador also features a smooth, durable Rosewood fingerboard fitted with 20 medium/jumbo frets for years of playing enjoyment. Premium 14:1 die-cast machine heads provide excellent tuning accuracy and stability. Not to mention, Joan's signature on the back of the headstock. Other premium touches include a multi-bound body on the top and back as well as a bound fingerboard.
