Yamaha's CPX Series acoustic guitars are especially popular for their larger Medium-Jumbo body with a cutaway, which provides players with the comfort they need and gives the instrument a resonant, frequency-balanced sound with rich bass. The soundboard is supported by a special, non-recessed ribbing that enhances its resonant qualities and natural tone.
The 1000 series offers semi-solid models with a solid spruce front and a nicely figured plywood back and sides. The instruments are fitted with an SRT piezo pickup and System63 preamp, which offers three types of microphone pickup simulation and associated extended editing options, in addition to the standard controls of a three-band EQ, volume control, feedback reduction and built-in tuner.
The quality craftsmanship of this higher series is accentuated by gold-plated Die-Cast tuning drives and a mother-of-pearl rosette.
