The design is inspired by the legendary Pacifica USA models. The tinted, high-gloss lacquered neck conveys a unique and irresistible vintage look and feel. Teflon-impregnated string riders extend the life of the strings while simultaneously reducing the frequency peaks at 2KHz that are typical for metal. Together with a Yamaha bridge plate made of steel, the result is the perfect combination for fast response and long sustain. Precise Grover tuners with professional clamping mechanisms guarantee stable tuning and ultra-fast string changing. The Custom 5 is the high-output version of the classic 59 humbucker. Its development was inspired by guitarists who modified their SH-5 or SH-11 custom pickups with Alnico V magnets to achieve a vintage sound with less distortion and greater bass range than regular 59s. The coil tab function allows you to easily and quickly switch the Seymour Duncan Custom 5 bridge pickup from humbucker to single coil sound. Precision engineered, TUSQ XL transmits string vibration to the neck, awakening hidden overtones and richness in every note. 500 times smoother than graphite and impregnated with Teflon, the material prevents the strings from pinching or snagging and ensures impressive tuning stability even under extreme bends. The SP90-1 is a faithful replica of the original Soapbar pickup. Short, wide coils of painted wire wound on a 1950s Leesona machine deliver more output and punchier mids than traditional single coils, and a clarity that would be unattainable with a humbucker in the neck position.
